If you know anything about South Haven, MI you know all about the sandy beaches, the great downtown and the proximity to most places in the mid-west. Here's a list of a few more things that you may not already know about that will get you to think about coming to SoHa this summer.
1. HarborFest June 14-15
Father's Day weekend 2019 will also be the weekend of the 27th Annual Harborfest which boasts fun for the whole family. There is entertainment in the form of musicians all weekend, there are local craftspeople and last year a magician was part of the entertainment. The weather in South Haven in June is usually perfect for outdoor festivals...so come on and enjoy the maritime history of southwestern Michigan. http://www.southhavenharborfest.com
2. South Haven Art Fair June 29-30
This juried art festival has a little bit of everything. The fair takes place just across the bridge from downtown - easy walking distance from both beaches and from the downtown shops.
3. Gingerman Raceway All-Summer
Is vacation a little too relaxing for you? If so, go witness the speed and power on display all summer long at the Gingerman Raceway. They boast a full schedule of races throughout the summer featuring many different types of cars and drivers from near and far.
4. National Blueberry Festival Aug 8-11
This would not be a respectable list of things to do in South Haven without the Blueberry Festival. Southwest Michigan has been known for several fruits, but this festival recognizes the most popular from the area. There is a parade, a pageant and a craft fair - more than you ever expected from a Blueberry Festival - but trust me, it is not to be missed.
5. Haven Harvest Oct 18-19
If you are looking ahead to the fall, you need to book your stay around the Haven Harvest. There are all of the tastes of fall, coupled with the haunts of halloween. https://www.southhaven.org/event-details.cfm?rowID=E64913EBD7276E1399CEB8793673547D
