Great Lakes Water Levels Getting Back Closer To Normal

If you have been up to Lake Michigan in the past year you likely noticed less beach area than before. Water levels were up - dangerously so. In fact, sand barricades were erected on the South Beach of South Haven to protect the shoreline and the beach-goers. It looks like that water level will be receding a bit here in 2021 (more good news in 2021!) which means there will be more beach to enjoy and hopefully safer waters to enjoy as well.

Of course, always be mindful of under-currents along shorelines and look for the water condition flags before entering any of the Great Lakes.

Here's more from mlive.com on the receding water levels. We hope to see you on the beach this summer.
