Going to a beach town is all about relaxation, right? Well it doesn't have to be. While there is plenty of space and time to kick back, there are also many options around the area where you can feed the adrenaline junky in yourself.
Test Your Skills
Vacation towns all along Lake Michigan have some amazing entertainment for you and your crew. Personally, I love a good go-cart race and there are several to choose from.
Craig's Cruisers
This is my personal favorite. It is about 30 miles up the road from South Haven, but worth the short drive. There is also lots of other things to do in Holland as well as towns along the way there.
South Haven Fun Park
This one is the closest to the town, but not quite as nice. If you looking for a quick trip, this might be the one for you.
Hidden Pointe Fun Park
A little further away and south by about an hour is a super nice track and entertainment area. Benton Harbor / St Joseph has plenty of other great things to do - so you can make it part of a short day trip.
Leave it to the Professionals
If racing, yourself, is not your thing. Or you just enjoy watching professionals race, then you need to head over to Gingerman Raceway. At Gingerman they have races of all kinds throughout the summer. See their 2019 calendar here. The track is a mere 6 miles from the beach, so it's easy to get to and possibly an experience unlike were expecting on your vacation.
